A few students of Gargi College, in a blog, alleged that some "drunken men" -- said to be pro-CAA demonstrators -- had entered the women college's campus and misbehaved with students. The students claimed that the drunk men had masturbated at them.
Reports suggest that the lackadaisical security at the girls college was the reason how some goons entered the premises and molested the female students.
The incident, the students say, took place on February 6, Day 3 of the annual festival 'Reverie'. A group of drunken men reportedly entered the college affiliated to Delhi University, and manhandled the students.

New Delhi: Several students of Delhi University’s Gargi College on Monday held a protest against the molestation of students by a group of men who had gate-crashed a fest.
The Delhi Police said it has launched a probe into the incident and is scanning CCTV footage. Police, however, have not received a complaint in this regard, a senior officer said.
Over 100 students held a protest outside the gate of Gargi College on Monday. Students and teachers posted on social media about the incident.
As per their posts, during the college festival 'Reverie' at around 6.30pm on Sunday, groups of unruly, drunk men mobbed the entrances of the college and forced their way in.
The students alleged that Rapid Action Force and Delhi Police personnel were deployed close to the gate from where the men allegedly entered.
“There was a complete lapse of security. The students were groped, molested and even assaulted by the men who all appeared to be in their mid-30s. The college had claimed to set up security but I don't think there must have been such an incident in any college campus across the country," a student said on condition of anonymity.
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Kumar Thakur said appropriate action will be taken in the matter.
"We have not received a complaint in this regard yet. But we have begun a suo moto enquiry into the incident," the DCP said.
Police are scanning footage of CCTV cameras to collect evidence and speaking to students to ascertain facts, he added. The enquiry is being conducted by Additonal DCP (South) Geetanjali Khandelwal, Thakur said.

Over a hundred students from Gargi College filled up the heart of the campus, if they didn't find a space in the ground floor, students lined up along the corridors of the buildings. All in protest against the incidents that took place on Februrary 6. Then then passed lewd comments, groped, molested the women, they allegedly even chased behind some women and insisted they give them the names of their Instagram accounts. "My experiences of last night has scarred me for life and I will definitely think thrice before going in any fest ever. Is this the atmosphere we wish to create in modern times for our women?" said one of the students on Twitter.
"Some girls ran towards washrooms. The men followed them and locked them inside," a student told PTI.
Another Twitter user said, "They were roaming around shirtless. Hundreds of such men in a ground that isn't big enough to accommodate these many people. The crowd was suffocating. There have been countless reports of women that have been harassed by men. Many groped, masturbated at, cat-called, teased, pushed, manhandled, stalked till the metro station and their PGs and what not."
Some students said that the men had been part of a pro-CAA rally taking place outside the college. One teacher from a neighbouring college said on Facebook that she had noticed the rally as well. "I was teaching in college on Thursday 6th February, 2 days before Delhi elections. When my voice in class began to be drowned by loud chants of Jai Sri Ram. The students in my class became distracted and looked outside the window, they informed me that a huge political rally was passing by in front of the road connecting our college (Kamala Nehru College) and Gargi College," she said.
"Two hours later when I finished my classes I got out of college. The entire road in front of our college was blocked. There was a truck full of men chanting 'Jai Sri Ram'. Behind the truck were posh cars like BMWs, Fortuners, and Mercedes. I saw garlanded men hanging out of the car windows....I came back home only to hear horrible news of assault in hands of a large group of 'drunken men' who entered their sacred campus and violated them," she added.
Some students also alleged that they had approached the security for help but no one came forward to help them. When they approached the Principal, they were asked why the students turned up at fest if they were so scared about their safety. It was this attitude that pushed the students to turn up in large numbers to protest today, students said. They are demanding that the Principal resign from her post immediately.
The police are looking through CCTV footage currently.

"I was groped thrice, somebody reached for inside my skirt and the problem was I couldn't move out of it," she said in a choked voice.

Contacted by IANS, the principal, however, said: "We had a huge security arrangement, including police, bouncers and even commandos along with the teaching and non-teaching staff, on duty. No one came to us and reported any such incident. We were taking rounds in the crowd. However, there is no doubt that it was very crowded. We were very vigilant but we couldn't see anything of this sort."

4/n This whole narrative that the Student Union is creating by blaming the Admin. Of the college is a bunch of bullshit. I’ve volunteered in the fest before so I know how the union is always guiding about who and who should not enter.

"I was groped thrice, somebody reached for inside my skirt and the problem was I couldn't move out of it," she said in a choked voice.

Contacted by IANS, the principal, however, said: "We had a huge security arrangement, including police, bouncers and even commandos along with the teaching and non-teaching staff, on duty. No one came to us and reported any such incident. We were taking rounds in the crowd. However, there is no doubt that it was very crowded. We were very vigilant but we couldn't see anything of this sort."

Left-group AIDWA on Monday alleged that CAA supporters
were involved in the "molestation" of students at the all-women Gargi College during a cultural festival last week.
The All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) condemned the incident and demanded that the police take cognisance of the alleged incident and immediately book the culprits.
"A group of pro-CAA protestors passed by and broke into the premises. They scaled the walls of the college to enter it. They were drunk and shouted Jai Shri Ram slogans. They molested and manhandled the girls," it said in a statement.
It also demanded that the university look into the "insensitive and irresponsible behaviour" of the college authorities.
The AIDWA, along with the Students' Federation of India and Democratic Youth Federation of India, will protest against the "rampant goondaism by saffron forces in college and university campuses", it said.
Scores of students of the college on Monday held a protest against the alleged molestation of students by a group of men who had gatecrashed the cultural festival on February 6.
The Delhi Police said it has launched a probe into the incident and is scanning CCTV footage to gather evidence.
Police, however, have not received a complaint in this regard, a senior officer said.
